1936 4 Founder, Masao Kinoshita, started wholesale and retail textile business under the name "Maruito Gofuku Ten" in Sannomiya, Ikuta-ku (present, Chuo-ku), Kobe, Hyogo.
1948 7 Established the Nada branch (located in Nada-ku, Kobe-shi), and started pawn-broking business.
1951 3 Changed its corporate name from "Maruito Gofuku Ten" to "Maruito Shoten Co., Ltd."
1958 10 Was separated into 2 companies; "Maruito Store Co., Ltd." as the wholesale and retail textile business, and "Maruito Co., Ltd." as the pawn-broking and finance businesses.
1960 3 Started "Salary-Man Loan", a type of consumer finance business, at the Motomachi branch (located in Chuo-ku, Kobe-shi).
1965 2 "Maruito Co., Ltd." changed its corporate name in Japanese from "Kabushiki-Kaisha Maruito" to "Maruito Kabushiki-Kaisha".
1967 8 Established the Tokyo branch as the first branch in the Tokyo area (located in Yaesu, Chuo-ku).
1970 5 Developed the first automatic cash dispenser in Japan, and set up at the Umeda branch (located in Kita-ku, Osaka-shi).
1972 7 Changed its corporate name from "Maruito Co., Ltd." (written in Chinese characters) to "Maruito Co., Ltd." (written in katakana).
1973 8 Developed/set up an original Cash Dispenser and started 24-hour/365-day service.
1975 10 Established "Foundation of Kinoshita Memorial Enterprise" for the purpose of supplying scholarships as commemorative project for the 40th anniversary of business foundation.
1977 10 Established "Japan Consumer Finance Co., Ltd." as the business of installment sales finance and consumer finance.
1978 10 "ACOM CO., LTD." was founded with paid-in capital of 500 million yen as the business of consumer finance, and established its office in Nihombashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.
12 Acquired 69 consumer finance outlets and receivable outstandings from "Maruito Co., Ltd." and "Joy Co., Ltd.", and started business.
1979 7 Started rental business of goods for leisure, sports, and electrical products, etc.
12 Installed an automatic teller machine (ATM), which provides a 24-hour/365-day service, at the Ginza branch (located in Ginza, Chuo-ku), as the first in the industry.
1980 4 "Japan Consumer Finance Co., Ltd." changed its corporate name to "N.S.K. Shinpan Co., Ltd."
1983 1 Acquired all shares of "JLA INCORPORATED".
12 Registered to Kanto Local Finance Bureau as a money-lending company along with enforcement of "Money-Lending Business Control and Regulations Law".
1984 8 Moved headquarter location to Fujimi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.
1986 3 Started rental business for videos/CDs.
7 Established "The Institute for Research on Household Economics" as commemorative project for the 50th anniversary of the business foundation.
10 Established "ACOM RESEARCH INSTITUTE, INC." to survey and research trends in household expenditure.
12 Established "ACOM (U.S.A.) INC." in Delaware, U.S.A. as the business of real estate lease. (Dissolved in December 2015)
Established "ACOM INTERNATIONAL, INC." in Delaware, U.S.A. as the business of real estate lease.
1989 8 Implemented Corporate Identity (CI) activities aggressively, and announced new MI (Mind Identity) and VI (Visual Identity).
1991 6 Started alliance with "Tokyo City Finance Co., Ltd." (TCF) to use CD network of TCF.
1992 2 Established "AJAST Ltd." as the business of an insurance agency.
3 Absorbed "N.S.K. Shinpan Co., Ltd." and started the business of installment sales finance, golf membership mortgage loan, and commercial loan.
1993 7 Installed "MUJINKUN", automatic contract machine, at the Shinjuku branch and the Hakata branch as the first in the industry.
Established "ACOM PACIFIC, INC." to lease health resorts in Guam (U.S.A.).
10 Listed ACOM stock on the over-the-counter market at Japan Securities Dealers Association.
1994 1 Started public performances of "ACOM 'Miru' Concert Monogatari," which is one of ACOM's social contributing activities.
12 Listed ACOM stock on the second section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
1996 3 Established "ACOM ESTATE CO., LTD." as the business of real estate management.
9 Established "SIAM A&C CO., LTD." as a joint venture of hire purchase business in Kingdom of Thailand.
Listed ACOM stock on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
1997 7 "ACOM RESEARCH INSTITUTE, INC." changed its corporate name to "ACOM ECONOMIC RESEARCH INSTITUTE, INC."
10 Established "ABS CO., LTD." as the business of maintenance of buildings and other properties.
1998 3 Established "AVRS CO., LTD." for operation of the rental business for videos/CDs.
7 Acquired principal membership of Mastercard International and obtained a license to issue credit cards.
1999 4 Started issuing Mastercard® and advanced into credit card business.
10 Established "E*NetCard CO., LTD." to cultivate new customer segments for loans and credit cards via the Internet.
Split up rental business of goods for leisure, sports, and electrical products and established "ACOM RENTAL CO., LTD." as the business of a comprehensive rental.
2000 6 Established "CHAILEASE ACOM FINANCE CO., LTD." as a joint venture of hire purchase business in Taipei (Taiwan).
8 Established "ACOM CAPITAL CO., LTD." as a special purpose company in Cayman Islands (British overseas territory).
10 Acquired all shares of "JUKI CREDIT CO., LTD."
11 Established "A B PARTNER CO., LTD." as the business of temporary employment agencies and back-office services.
12 Transferred property and goodwill of AV software rental shop, "AVRS CO., LTD."
2001 3 Invested capital in "IR Loan Servicing, Inc." (present, a consolidated subsidiary) to advance into the servicing business.
5 Launched guarantee business on unsecured loans offered by "The Hokkaido Bank, Ltd."
8 Established "Tokyo-Mitsubishi Cash One Ltd." with "The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Ltd." (present, "The MUFG Bank, Ltd."), "The Mitsubishi Trust and Banking Corporation" (present, "The Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation"), "DC CARD Co., Ltd." (present, "Mitsubishi UFJ NICOS Co., Ltd."), and "JACCS CO., LTD."
"E*NetCard CO., LTD." changed its corporate name to "ASCOT CO., LTD."
9 "JUKI CREDIT CO., LTD." changed its corporate name to "JCK CREDIT CO., LTD."

2004 3 Reached an agreement with respect to a strategic business and capital alliance with "Mitsubishi Tokyo Financial Group, Inc." (present, "Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc.").
4 Became an equity-method affiliate of "Mitsubishi Tokyo Financial Group, Inc." (present, "Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc.").
Sold all of holding shares of "ASCOT CO., LTD.," which cultivated new customer segments for loans and credit cards via the Internet.
"ACOM ECONOMIC RESEARCH INSTITUTE, INC" dissolved due to a consolidation take-over in which "ACOM RENTAL CO., LTD." became the successor company.

4 "SIAM A&C CO., LTD." changed its corporate name to "EASY BUY Public Company Limited" (present, a consolidated subsidiary).
8 Sold all of holding shares of "CHILEASE ACOM FINANCE CO., LTD.," which operated hire purchase business in Taipei (Taiwan).
9 Established "PKU-ACOM Financial Information Research Center" with Peking University in China and commenced joint research. (Joint research ended in July 2010.)
Established sponsored American Depositary Receipt (ADR) program with The Bank of New York as depositary. (The program terminated in December 2019.)
10 Acquired all shares of "DC Servicer company., Ltd."

2019 5 "PT. Bank Nusantara Parahyangan, Tbk." in Republic of Indonesia merged with "PT Bank Danamon Indonesia, Tbk." (the surviving company), a consolidated subsidiary of "Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc."
2021 7 Established a subsidiary for unsecured loan business, “ACOM (M) SDN. BHD.” in Malaysia.

Moved ACOM stock on the Standard Market of the Tokyo Stock Exchange due to the revision of the market segment.
