CSR Activities

Social Contribution Policy

ACOM upholds the circle of trust, rooted in our founding spirit, and "improving lifestyle," as our business philosophy. Guided by these principles, our CSR activities encompass a wide range of initiatives in social welfare and community engagement. Through these efforts, we aim to build strong ties with local communities, while striving to be both "ACOM close at hand" and a corporate citizen in harmony with society.

Three Priority Areas

Three Priority Areas

In identifying our materialities (key areas), we extracted social issues that ACOM should prioritize. Based on these, we have defined three priority areas for our CSR activities: "Region (Development)," "Environment," and "Disaster." Through initiatives in these three areas that encourage employee participation, we are committed to contributing to the realization of a sustainable society.

Dialogues with Communities

We respect the customs and cultures of each community and strive to foster mutual understanding through active communication with local residents and organizations. Through our CSR activities, we continue to engage in dialogue with communities, aiming to be both "ACOM close at hand" and a corporate citizen in harmony with society.

Introduction of Activities

ACOM Miru Concert Monogatari

The ACOM Miru Concert Monogatari has been held across Japan since 1994, inviting members of local communities to enjoy performances. To date, it has been staged more than 270 times, delighting a total audience of approximately 250,000 people. This unique concert combines vividly colored shadow theater, live performances by a piano trio (piano, violin, and cello), and storytelling. A distinctive feature of the concert is that it is held as a "barrier-free concert," designed so that everyone can enjoy it together. This includes sign language interpretation on stage and dedicated seating for wheelchair users.

As part of our support for people with disabilities, the gifts distributed to attendees at the ACOM Miru Concert Monogatari are merchandise made at local vocational facilities. In addition, the stuffing of pamphlets and other printed materials is entrusted to a vocational facility for people with intellectual disabilities in Ota Ward, Tokyo.

The activities of the ACOM Miru Concert Monogatari were recognized with the Award for Excellence at the Japan Mecenat Awards(*) 2018.

  • (*) The Japan Mecenat Awards are presented by the Association for Corporate Support of the Arts, with the support of the Agency for Cultural Affairs, to recognize outstanding initiatives that contribute to the creation of an enriched society through the promotion of arts and culture.

Blood Donation Drive

The ACOM Forest Forest Conservation Program

Since 2012, many ACOM employees have voluntarily participated each year in blood donation drives organized by the Japanese Red Cross Society. Blood donation is an essential part of the medical infrastructure that saves lives, and corporate support for its promotion and awareness-raising represents an important aspect of social responsibility. Moreover, employee participation in these blood donation activities provides opportunities to strengthen collaboration with local blood centers, municipalities, and other community stakeholders. These activities are not limited to ACOM employees; we also invite and receive cooperation from neighboring companies at each venue. In FY2024, donation drives were held at the Head Office Building, Fujimi Building, Harumi Building, Yokohama Business Park, and Osaka Crystal Tower, with a total of 458 employees participating.

Challenge What You Want to Start! Project

For many years, ACOM has carried out marketing with the key message of "ACOM for the First Time." However, our support for "firsts" extends beyond the field of card loans. To encourage people to take new steps toward a brighter future and to help realize a society where anyone can pursue their aspirations, we launched the "Challenge What You Want to Start!" Project. Through this project, we invite applications from people who wish to take on something new. Selected participants are matched with "First-Time Coaches" - professionals in their respective fields - who work alongside them to provide opportunities and support in taking on their first challenges.

"ACOM Forest" - Forest Conservation Activities

The ACOM Forest Forest Conservation Program

Since June 2022, ACOM has been conducting the "ACOM Forest" initiative to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and conserve biodiversity. Through the "Corporate Forest Support Program," we have signed agreements with Kanagawa and Osaka Prefectures, where our Contact Centers are located.
This initiative contributes to the maintenance and conservation of healthy forests through volunteer activities by employees. In Kanagawa, activities focus on branch pruning and thinning, while in Osaka, they include underbrush clearing and tree planting. In FY2024, the activities were conducted eight times in Kanagawa and twelve times in Osaka, with a total of 309 employees and their family members participating.
Through these activities, we are contributing to environmental conservation in Kanagawa and Osaka while also fostering greater environmental awareness among our employees.
